On June 20th, 2008 I left my apartment to meet up with some friends for a bit of riding. Less than a mile from my house I went into a 45mph curve that I didn't come out of. I don't remember the wreck, but the marks on my Mainframe helmet say it all. I was flung from my bike and hit a utility pole head-first. Surprisingly, I didn't sustain any head injuries, but I can't say the same for the rest of my body. I was put on Air Evac and spent over a month in the hospital. Everyone thought I was dead because of my injuries (broken rib, punctured lung, broken scapula, broken back with spinal cord injury, and fractured neck), including heavy road rash. If it hadn't been for the Snell rating I know I wouldn't be endorsing Icon today. I still have the helmet as a reminder and proof that Icon is the best!
