This morning (Nov 4th, 2008) at about 12:30am, I was on my way home from meeting with some buddies. I was on my '06 ZX636 following a friend in a car who was about 100 feet ahead. Out of nowhere, a deer suddenly popped out between her car and my bike. There was zero time to react; I never even had time to touch the brakes. All I heard was the loud crack of my front cowling exploding into pieces and then I was on the ground sliding, pinned under the bike. I finally kicked the bike away during the slide, and it came to rest about 15 feet away. Luckily I was able to get up and walk around with no problem.
Before getting ready to ride home, I zipped up my Icon Accelerant Jacket, strapped on my Icon Hooligan Gloves and threw on my helmet (soon to be an Icon). Thanks to your gear, I walked away with no major injuries. The back and shoulder armor of my Accelerant Jacket kicked so much ass I felt kind of bad for the pavement. The ballistic nylon also did way better than I would have ever expected for such a lightweight material. For as long as I slid, it held up great. The Hooligan gloves did a kick-ass job at protecting my hands and I got out with only a couple of scuffs. You can be sure that I will be buying all new Icon Gear when I get my insurance check! Thanks for putting so much research and effort into your products. The quality of work you guys put out is greatly appreciated by me and all other riders who are wise enough to choose your product.
