For the Love of Honda

Monday July 23, 2012

We love Honda. Well, not any Honda – more specifically any Honda built during the golden years, 1983-1993. It was a time when Big Red dominated styling and innovation. It was a Honda that wasn’t afraid to take chances as witnessed by such icons as the NQ50, EZ90, CH125, ATC250R, FL400R, VF500, CBR600, CX650Turbo, VFR750, PC800, CBR900RR, and VF1000R.

This latest concept hearkens back to those glory days. It’s as if some long forgotten designer just uncapped his AD markers and started laying down fresh 80′s design lines anew. Is this a sign of things to come? Will corporate Honda finally break free of the tremendously lame motorcycles they’ve been serving up for the last 20 years? Will we be able to replace our aging tri-color fleet with something built in this century? Can we finally stop buying Ducatis? One can only hope.
