YOUR DAILY DOSE OF THE ICON LIFESTYLE

Oh Mikey

Friday May 18, 2012

If you’ve spend the prerequisite amount of time watching History, Discovery and National Geographic channels like we have, you’ve noticed this trend as well.
Where there use to be American Chopper, West Coast Chopper, and Biker Build off –now– Top Shot, Sons of Guns, and American Guns have taken their place.
It wasn’t that hard of a transition, they probably used the same footage of grinders, CNC mills, lathes, welding, sparks and metal shavings. Recycle some tatted up “tough guys” and add a little bro drama and you’ve got the formula for a winner.

When this happened with “choppers,” we got an explosion of “choppa builders,” chrome widget makers, novelty helmet slingers…etc. Now gun and ammo makers, zombie target printers, and airsoft imitators are all flinging ordinance at high rpm.

Yet, while the Gun TV world is rapidly expanding, they’ve resorted to some kind of hybrid incestuous co-mingling of flamed out novelty bikes and class three firearms.

We love guns, metalworking is fun, and the zombies are a coming – And while we build our jacket pockets big enough to fit a Glock26, you won’t see Icon rocking a stretched, raked, and flamed M2 any time soon -

A pair of 24k gold 1911′s a la Face Off ?…that’s another story

Weren't these guys on Coast Coast Choppers last year?

a quick look in the center console reveals....

hard to believe it's already come to this...
