The Worst Nightmare

Saturday March 17, 2012

There I was on a beautiful Tuesday afternoon heading to work in the San Fernando valley on my Yamaha R1 motorcycle. I was riding in the HOV (carpool) lane when all of a sudden the worst nightmare of any motorcycle rider happens. A pick up truck without any passengers decided to cross over the double yellow lines right in front of me. A collision was unavoidable. Riding motorcycles everyday for the last 15 years taught me to just lay the bike down an brace for impact. I was confident that if no other vehicle was behind me that I would survive this situation because I was wearing my Icon motorcycle variant helmet, Icon titanium protected gloves, and my heavy duty Icon Skull jacket. The CHP and firefighters were extremely impressed that I only suffered a major laceration to my right leg next to my knee. And this could have been avoided if I had worn my Icon riding pants with knee pad armor. Thank you Icon for saving my life!!!
